What's New in March

Family Office Platform Version 2.3.0

Our best update yet… again.

The Unlimited.ai team ships at a relentless pace that's redefining what family offices should expect from their technology, and March raises the bar even further. This release spans seven major features, from Nobel Prize–winning portfolio science to real-time benchmarking against public markets, delivering institutional-grade tools that simply don't exist anywhere else in our category.

And family offices are taking notice. Our platform is now reporting on over $500mm of assets in just our first full quarter in the market.

Let's get into it.

Organize Your World with Custom Tagging

Every family office thinks about its portfolio differently. Some slice by strategy. Others by vintage year, geography, risk profile, or dimensions that are entirely unique to how their family operates. Custom Tagging puts that flexibility directly in your hands — create and assign fully customizable tags across your portfolio to filter, report, and surface the data that matters most to you. No rigid taxonomies, no workarounds. Just your portfolio, organized your way.

PME Benchmarking: Would You Have Been Better Off in Public Markets?

It's the question every allocator eventually asks — and until now, answering it required exporting data, firing up a spreadsheet, and cobbling together an analysis manually. Not anymore.

Our new Public Market Equivalent tool lets you build a benchmark portfolio directly inside the platform. Search for public tickers like SPY for the S&P 500 or AGG for aggregate bonds, set your weights, then select the private funds you want to compare. Switch between Inputs and Outputs to move from setup to results, and filter by Liquid, Illiquid, or All Investments to narrow your focus. We exclude Traditional Portfolio funds by design — they already represent public market holdings, so including them would skew the comparison.

The result: a clear, data-driven answer to whether your private allocations outperformed what you could have earned in the public markets. No exports, no spreadsheets, no guesswork.

The Consolidated Portfolio Controller

Family office portfolios are complex by nature — multiple entities, accounts, trusts, and investment vehicles spread across structures that evolved over years or even decades. The new Consolidated Portfolio Controller brings all of it together into a single, unified view.

From the top level, you see your total NAV and can toggle between Overview and Mapping views. Filter by Combined, Liquid, or Illiquid to focus on what matters, and drill into any individual entity without leaving the screen. The Allocation view delivers instant insight into the metrics that drive decisions — DPI, MOIC, annualized volatility, and geography mix — while automatically surfacing your largest asset class, concentration risk, and geographic exposure. Six asset classes, nine investments? Here is a complete picture of where your capital sits, all on one screen.

Portfolio Optimization — Powered by Nobel Prize–Winning Science

This is the one that turns heads.

We built a full portfolio optimization engine powered by Markowitz mean-variance optimization — the same Modern Portfolio Theory framework that earned Harry Markowitz the Nobel Prize in Economics. If you're wondering who else in the family office technology space offers this: no one. We checked.

Here's how it works. The engine estimates asset correlations using a Ledoit-Wolf shrinkage estimator, an industry-standard technique for producing stable, well-conditioned covariance matrices. It holds your illiquid assets at their current weights and frees up your liquid assets for optimization. From there, the optimizer builds an efficient frontier and pinpoints the best return-to-risk portfolio: the spot where you get the strongest risk-adjusted return for the level of risk you're taking.

In practice, you review your current holdings, adjust values or return assumptions as needed, optionally add public tickers or pipeline investments to explore new allocations, and click Run Optimization. The Outputs tab walks you along the efficient frontier so you can see exactly how different portfolio constructions shift your risk and return profile.

Enhanced Entity Mapping

Your entity structure can be one of the hardest things to visualize — especially when ownership flows through multiple layers of trusts, LLCs, and accounts. The enhanced Entity Map tackles this head-on by rendering a full interactive graph of your ownership hierarchy, from the Consolidated Portfolio level all the way down through every entity, account, and fund.

Click any node to highlight its ownership path. Pinch or scroll to zoom in and out. Use the ••• menu on any node to view, edit, or delete it directly. Connecting lines display ownership percentages so you can trace exactly how capital flows through your structure, and you can toggle investments on or off, filter by Open or Closed status, and switch between the Mapping and Overview views depending on what you need.

Intra-Tenant Communications

Collaboration shouldn't require leaving your platform. Until now, discussing a data point or flagging something for a colleague meant switching to email, Slack, or a text thread — losing context every time you jumped out.

Our new in-app messaging changes that. Communicate directly with anyone on your tenant, right inside Unlimited.ai. Conversations stay in context, right next to the data you're discussing, so nothing gets lost in translation between tools.

A Refreshed Sidebar

Sometimes the smallest changes make the biggest difference in daily workflow. The updated sidebar features clear top-level sections — Home, Portfolio, Investments, Due Diligence, and Tax Management — alongside quick-access actions for Manage, Record, Model, and Connect. Invite Collaborators now sits just a tap away at the bottom of the nav. Less clutter, faster access, more focus on the work that matters.

Under the Hood

V2.3.0 also packs a suite of technical upgrades running beneath the surface. We've accelerated platform response times, strengthened data integrity checks across ingestion pipelines, expanded third-party API integrations, and reinforced the core architecture that supports everything from Entity Mapping to Portfolio Optimization. The work you don't see is what makes everything you do see feel effortless.
